Photographer and computer teacher, John Chartrand, teaches at international schools around the world, and takes photographs of interest. In the summer of 2007 he accepted employment to work in Egypt. He now lives in an area of Cairo called Maadi, the oldest section of Cairo, where people lived on a copper-trading route over 6000 years ago. John Chartrand spoke with Key Records by phone and mentioned he had already visited and photographed the pyramids several times. His first trip was by subway from Maadi to Giza where the great pyramids and Sphinx stand. Since then he has been going by car to the oldest antiguities of Egypt: Giza Pyramids, Saqqara Mastaba Tombs, Dashure Pyramids, and one of the oldest civilizations in Egypt, Memphis where the Pharaoh Ramsis once ruled.

John also has a website with step by step tutorials on Adobe Illustrator

Key Records spoke with John Chartrand December 3, 2007. Photographs of the Pyramids and surrounding area were taken in November 2007.
