Hugh Gallacher spoke with Key Records on St. Patrick’s Day during his band’s warm up session. We learned that the singer followed his heart to Canada after he fell in love with a Canadian girl. Born in Glasgow, Scotland, Hugh grew up in a music family and was often coaxed by his parents to sing for family visitors. His father taught him to play drums and he learned many rebel and traditional Irish songs. As a teenager, Hugh played drums for a band named Rostrum. After four years with the band, the lead singer left and Hugh took over as vocalist.

Today, Hugh is known as Shuggie Gallacher & Friends. His friends being Tim Ladd on bass, Derek Horne on Guitar, and Ralph Buch on Drums. For more information or to hire Hugh for your special occasion email Hugh Gallacher at: hugh21@rogers.com

Warm up session recorded March 17, 2008 at Don Cherry’s Bar in the Quality Inn Hotel, downtown Ottawa, Canada.
